Consultancy at GIZ Skopje office - Human Trafficking and Social Protection‏

The GIZ office in Skopje has
recently launched its Regional Program on Human Trafficking and Social
Protection (HTSP) to be implemented in Macedonia, Serbia, Kosovo and Bosnia and
Herzegovina.
The main goal of the Program is to strengthen
the decentralised social service delivery structures in order to fight Human
Trafficking. In particular, the Program aims at:
identification
of the various root causes of human trafficking and the possibilities for improved
outreach of the social protection schemes to the vulnerable groups in Macedonia;
strengthening
of the social prevention as to avoid and/or reduce the incidence of human
trafficking that is often found amongst the vulnerable/marginalized groups; �
long-term
social inclusion of potential and actual victims of human trafficking.
As part of the program GIZ plans to carry out a
number of baseline studies on topics related to social protection and human
trafficking. The studies will be carried out at different time periods over the
course of the next 12 months.
Therefore,the GIZ office in Skopje is seeking fornational consultants to draft analysis on the following topics:
Poverty assessment and mapping of
vulnerable groups (with special focus on Human Trafficking);
Study on existing social protection
schemes and benefits;
General situation analysis of
Centres for Social Work (CSW);
Study on existing social delivery
mechanisms and requirements / opportunities regarding decentralisation of
social services; and
Assessment of client satisfaction
regarding social services delivery in selected CSWs.
The consultants have to have previous
experience in drafting comprehensive analysis, preferably in the field
of social services, financial sustainability and economics. The consultants,
with a sound background on research methodologies, can beï individual researchers or members of an academic or a
policy oriented institution/organization/think tank.

IJBPR is a double-blinded peer-reviewed Journal
published by Universum

in Kosovo with the financial support of the US Embassy in Kosovo and the US State
Department.

Academics, Scholars and Practitioners from the field and led by the
Editor-in-Chief Dr. Adrian Treacher from the University
of Sussex in the UK.
IJBPR is a gateway to key
policy research on the Western Balkan region and individual countries. Of
interest to policy-makers, scholars, and readers of Western Balkan affairs, it
aims to address theoretically-informed and empirically-tested economic, legal
and political issues which directly shape policy and attitudes in the region.
The review process ensures
that the academic quality of the published articles is approved by experienced
scholars/practitioners from the relevant field.
Call for
Papers
With the purpose to promote
comprehensive research and policy options in the Western Balkans, IJBPR invites scholars, researchers, public policy practitioners, and
graduate students at advanced stages of research,
to submit papers to be published in the first issue of the Journal in November
2011 or in subsequent issues.

contributions together with a short biography of the author(s) should be sent

Guidelines for Authors
Articles
submitted to IJBPR should be double-spaced, be in Times New Roman 12-point font
and have a margin of 1.5 inch on both sides. The numbering of pages, tables and
figures is required. Tables and figures, besides being set in the text, should
be provided separately to the Editor. Every table and/or figure should have a
title or header, as to show its function within the article's context.
Articles
should also have a title as well as the author(s) name(s), affiliation(s) and highest
academic qualification where applicable. In addition, an abstract of up to 200
words should be submitted. The name(s) and other details of the author(s) will
be deleted by the Editor, prior to the paper being sent for peer-review.
Referencing
system: the IJBPR recommends and encourages that its authors use the University of Chicago Style B system of referencing. More

The Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE), representative organisation of around 1 million European lawyers through its member bars and law societies, is currently seeking to recruit an Intern Legal Policy starting 1 September 2011 for a period of 6 month.
The Legal Policy Intern will assist the Legal Advisors within the CCBE with their daily work covering all CCBE policy areas.
The successful candidate should have:
the ability to understand and appreciate the interests of the legal profession in Europe, with a background in law
a good knowledge, and some experience, of EC law and EC institutions
a working knowledge of French and English, with any other language being an asset
good written and oral communication skills
computer literacy
The contract is a Belgian “contrat d'immersion professionnelle” and the monthly salary is 707 euros net.

United Nations Environment Programme Communications Intern Brussels, Belgium

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION
The intern selected will gain pragmatic and professional experience of working at UNEP as well as engaging with various EU institutions. S/he will also gain an introduction to the broad range of UNEP’s activities worldwide. He/she will also be fully involved into other UNEP Brussels office activities and events.
The intern will be mainly dealing with:
Communications;
Major groups and stakeholder liaison.
DUTIES AND TASKS
a) Awareness-raising & visibility
Broaden the outreach and explore new partnerships with EU institutions, EU-focused organizations & Brussels-based media;
Contribute to the identification of areas of common interest between the European institutions and UNEP;
Assist in organizing and participating in UNEP-led and other partnership events;
Represent UNEP at conferences and public events.
b) Communication & outreach
Collect and monitor EU news and political developments as well as events organized by other EU-focused institutions;
Monitor and liaise with UNEP offices worldwide, especially to collect new reports and publications, in order to prepare UNEP’s newsletter to the EU and Brussels-based major groups and stakeholders;
Research UNEP products, programmes and activities; prepare summaries for short articles for press and promotional material;
Support the launch of UNEP reports.
c) Information management
Support internal information flow; keep contact with other UNEP offices worldwide as instructed.
d) Liaison with major groups and stakeholders
Contribute to UNEP Brussels Office’s strategy for engagement with major groups and stakeholders;
Contribute to the identification of major stakeholders; build the UNEP Brussels major groups and stakeholder database;
Assist in monitoring and analysis of relevant initiatives and possible collaboration with UNEP.
e) Other ad hoc duties as required
Attend meetings, conferences and events and report back to relevant UNEP staff;
Respond to email and phone enquiries;
Support the organization and undertaking of high-level visits and events;
Contribute with other UN entities on collaborative events.
REQUIREMENTS
University Degree in a discipline relevant to UNEP’s mandate. Interns should be currently enrolled at a University;
Demonstrated interest in Environmental issues, the United Nations, and/or international governance;
Good knowledge and interest in the European Union;
Excellent level of English. Other languages an asset, especially French.

CONDITIONS

I. Support the preparations of the ICLEI World Congress 2012, in particular:
Prepare communications, announcements, promotional materials, etc. and support their dissemination;

Support the registration process;
Coordinate speakers, partners and participants by also using databases;

II. Contribute to the work of the Capacity Center, including project development and acquisition, and support other projects and congress preparations as needed.
Requirements
Degree in a relevant subject such as either Urban Planning & Management or Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience, or similar;
Interest in the areas of cities and local government, urban planning & management, environmental sustainability, and especially climate change impacts and adaptation;
Organizing skills, organized working style, creative and pro-active attitude;
Good communication style, writing and orally;
Language skills: fluent English and Portuguese orally and in writing; further languages welcome;
Some working experienced in Brazil preferred;
